Winter Olympics

The Winter Games (officially the International Winter Sports Week,but later recognized as the first Winter Olympics) was first held in 1924.It included five events : Nordic skiing,figure skating,speed skating,bobsledding and ice hockey.

Winter Olympics were held in the same years as the Summer Olympics until 1992,but since 1994 they have taken place every four years between the Summer Games.The sports being contested at the 2010 Vancouver Games are :
